2023 MN AUTHOR TOUR: LORNA LANDVIK

The library will host bestselling author Lorna Landvik Wednesday, May 3 at 6:30pm. Lorna is the author of twelve novels, including the bestselling Patty Jane’s House of Curl, Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons, and Last Circle of Love. She has performed stand-up and improvisational comedy around the country and her engaging presentations draw on her experience as a playwright and actor. Join us to hear Lorna speak about her journey to becoming an acclaimed writer. This event is free and open to the public.

Are you a creative person who would love to work in a public library? The Kasson Public Library is accepting applications for the position of full time Library Assistant. Minimum qualifications include an Associate Degree and one year of library experience or any equivalent combination of experience in museums, art centers, theater, visual arts, auditory or music production, cultural centers, teaching or tutoring. The Library Assistant will work with library automation, graphic design, video production, reference services, and will focus on youth services programming along with children and young adult collection development. We are looking for a qualified person who wants to reach out and make a positive difference. Salary Range $18.30 – $22.17/hr. STITCH!

Stitch! is a gathering for you to bring your own project – sewing, crocheting, needlepoint, knitting, etc. – to work on, or to come and gain a new skill. Sewing machines will be available, and ALL skill levels are welcome! This group meets the first Monday of the month from 1-4 pm. The next meeting is May 1. Drop in or stay the whole time! No registration needed.


NO STORYTIME IN MAY

There will be no storytimes in May. We are hard at work preparing for the Summer Reading Program. See you in June!

Kasson Public Library welcomes all children and cares about their safety.  Our policy states that all children under the age of 10 must be accompanied (defined as “within sight”) in the library.  Thank you for providing this measure of care.

The Kasson Public Library serves the residents of Kasson, Mantorville and surrounding areas with a service area of approximately 12,012 people.  We offer a variety of services including adult, young adult, and children’s books, audio books, music CDs, and movies.  We have computers for public use and also have WiFi in the building for our patrons. The library also offers downloading of eBooks through the Libby app.

The Kasson Public Library is a member of the SELCO regional library system and your Kasson Public Library card allows you access to items and materials from all of the other 88 public and school libraries in the SELCO system.
