Volunteers work alongside library staff to enhance and extend library services to the community without the expectation of monetary compensation.
Any interested person aged 16 or older must apply to become a volunteer by:
- Filling out an application. (If a minor is applying, the application will require a parent/guardian signature)
- Consenting to a background check by the city of Kasson.
- Taking part in an interview.
- Taking part in an orientation at the library.
Each volunteer reports to the volunteer coordinator. At any given time there is a limited number of volunteer positions available.
Volunteer service may be discontinued for any reason at any time by the volunteer, or the volunteer coordinator in consultation with the library director.
Because of the limited number of volunteer positions available, Kasson Public Library is not in a position to work with individuals doing community service mandated by the court system.
