| For the Summer Reading Program 2009, we're going to "Be
Creative" at the Kasson Public Library. We've got lots of fun activities and events this year, but in order to be a part, you first need to sign up. All kids from babies up to high-school are eligible. Read books, or have someone read them to you, and fill out how much time you spent reading on one of our reading contracts. A pdf of our shorter contract is here, longer contract is here. Bring these contracts in to the library, and for every five-hour period marked, you get two library bucks. Save these bucks, because at our Grand Finale on July 29th, you can use these to buy books, candy, toys and other fun items! In addition, the top readers in each age category will win special prizes. We also have a special art contest that runs from June 4th through June 18th. Print off your choice of our Singing Guy or Imaginary Animal and let your creativity loose! Color, cut, paste, sculpt, or modify your entry however you think is most "artistic" and bring it back to us. Entries are judged by age group. We have Mad Science Minnesota coming on July 9th at 11:00 am for a free performance for all who are registered. Watch how they demonstrate the scientific method with an amazing set of experiements called the flame test. Learn how cool dry ice can be, Don't forget we have storytime every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10:30 am. We've got some special ones planned for this summer, so come and spend some time with us! |
